This is the "top end", as the locals call it. Wild coastlines, lush tropics, harsh, tough country and the home of cattle stations (or ranches) which are bigger than some countries. If you've ever flown from one of the eastern Australian cities and overland to Singapore or elsewhere in Asia, from your window seat you may have thought that you were on a mission over Mars. The outback is a vast, red place and certainly the least boring of all the places to visit in Australia. With sometimes alien landscapes and stunning vistas, there is so much to find in this massive inland region. Huge craggy mountain ranges, salt lakes and a rich pallette of colors that can change overnight after the wet season, the outback is what makes Australia one of the most diverse and unique places on earth.

From Vancouver, BC down to Portland, OR - this area is home to some of the most magnificent scenery in the world. Towering douglas firs and misty mountain passes aren't the only spectacular parts of this region. A VFR flyer's mecca, Orbx will recreate the landscape as it only knows how - and simming in this part of the world will never be the same again. Our project leader for FTX US BLUE is Holger Sandmann, who has already established his reputation for some of the most enjoyed FS addons ever made throughout the PNW area. A native of the PNW area, Holger will use his unique local knowledge to ensure it's going to be absolutely as real as it gets.

Coming later in 2008, Orbx's Brisbane International will be building on the technology premiered with FTX AU YMML, combining 1m/pixel and 15cm/pixel ground terrain, fully animated aerobridges, spectacular lighting systems and a fully immersive airport experience. 	Despite being the smallest of the FTX AU regions, South East Queensland is in fact a VFR flyer's dream and sports some of the most enjoyable terrain to fly over in the simulator. Crammed full of small airfields and with a very diverse geography, you'll experience rainforests, the outback, hinterland ranges, lush rural landscapes, spectacular tropical waters and countless islands to explore, all with that typical Queensland look and feel. Visit Brisbane International Airport, the city and up along to the Sunshine Coast. South you'll discover the vibrant Gold Coast and rich pastural farming areas, all superbly rendered with their unique crops such as bananas, tobacco and of course, sugar cane.

	Melbourne's Tullamarine International Airport is the second largest in size and traffic volume and a major gateway for trans Pacific, Tasman and Asian international flights. FTX AU YMML will be the most detailed major Australain airport ever designed for FSX, combining 1m/pixel and 15cm/pixel ground textures, with 15cm Gmax poly runways and aprons for a truly remarkable experience. It is difficult to describe in words just how real and immersive this airport is; and it has to be, since it will form the basis for full commercial airline training for Orbx's aerospace industry business partners. Complete with over 38 square km of surrounding photoreal area seamlessly blended into FTX AU BLUE, YMML features incredibly detailed custom gmax modeling, full autogen annotation, full approach and area day/night lighting, inverse kinetic animated aerobridges, nose-in guidance systems, moving traffic, thousands of static objects and much more. 	Melbourne's Avalon Airport is the home of the world famous Avalon Airshow and also the base for Qantas training and maintenance, and a domestic passenger hub for budget carrier JetStar. Orbx has faithfully recreated the entire airport and surrounds using 60cm/pixel source imagery and hand-crafted gmax models. Seamlessly blended into FTX AU BLUE, Avalon will also feature an "Airshow Edition" to coincide with the Airshow in 2009; allowing you to take a virtual tour of each exhibited aircraft and take control of USAF figthers doing their demonstrations! 	Jandakot is one of Australia's busiest GA airports in terms of flight movements, and the Orbx version has been faithfully reproduced down to the last gable marker. A collaboration between Westsim Design and Orbx, this will be one of the finest GA airports you will have the pleasure of visiting in the simulator. More information coming soon! 	Perth CityScape is the first of many capital cities to get a remarkable makeover. Using 15cm/pixel source aerial photographs, the entire CBD will be accurately reproduced and every major building modeled in details. Area in photoreal detail will include Perth CBD and surrounds, Fremantle Harbour, Canning River precincts, Scarborough Beach, Henderson Shipyards, Hillary's Boat Marina, Mindarie Quays Marina, Dianella TV Stations, Adventure World, Murdoch and Edith Cowna Universities, and the Rockingham CBD.
